How can I make sure keystrokes are recorded??

If you mean Windows computer, Kidogger for Windows records typed keystrokes, including passwords.
If you mean Android phone, Kidlogger PRO for Android with its module, Android keyboard, can record all the keystrokes, including passwords. Other module, tentatively called Keyboard screen recorder, can record incoming and outgoing facebook messages.
